Living with nature

Discovering nature, above and below water, is the core of our product. We put this awareness tip in each guest room to have each guest aware of what and how they can help protect the environment whilst exploring the wonder of nature. Strict control is undertaken through an eco-friendly guiding to ensure each guest cooperate to this.

On The Land

  • All creatures and plants that live in the Bali Barat National Park are protected for future generations. This means that you are not allowed to hunt or disturb the animals, to pick flowers, or pull out or damage plants.
  • Please do not feed any animals or fishes in the Park. These animals can easily become dependent on being fed, and behave aggressively, which can be dangerous for visitors. Additionally, artificial feeding changes the nutrient values of the animals’ diet, which can be very unhealthy for animals.
  • Pets are not permitted anywhere in the reserve. Even well-looked after personal pets can carry diseases which could be disastrous for the wild animal population.
  • The safest way to explore the Park is to go with the Park Ranger, as the trails in the park are not especially well marked with and can require special knowledge. If you decide to go walking in the Park, do not leave the trails, as it is very easy to get confused and lost in the Park.
  • Please place any garbage (including cigarette butts) in the special garbage bins in the resort. All the garbage from the resort is collected and taken away. If a garbage bin is not immediately available, please keep your garbage with you until you can dispose of it properly.
  • Please do not make any noise in the Park. Enjoy the silence and the sound of nature.
  • Please be careful with fire. The climate of the Park is semi-arid, and the weather is hot. This means that even small fire can easily destroy the bushes and forest which will need many years to cover.

In The Sea

  • Many of the marine animals in the Park’s water are very fragile and can be killed by being touched or remove from their natural place even for only a short distance. Please do not touch them. Additionally, some of these marine creatures can be dangerous, if not deadly to humans. So please look but do not touch.
  • Living coral is easily damaged if used as anchoring point. Please help remind your boat driver to use a mooring buoy, if one is available, or to place the anchor in sand or on broken reefs.
  • Many small marine creatures live in inside shells and dead coral. Please do not attempt to take shells, coral or sea creatures as souvenirs. It does not only diminish the number of creatures in the Park, but is also illegal.
  • Fishing wit rod or hand line should not be done where people are diving or snorkeling. Fish hooks and fishing lines can cause very nasty injuries to divers.
  • Please dot not feed the fish. Feeding the fish disturb their normal food pattern and behavior. Introduced food also has different nutrient values, which can make the fish unhealthy. Disturbing the behavior or health of the fish can have disastrous effects on the entire ecosystem by affecting the other creatures which live in the Park’s waters.
