Our Commitment

We promote harmony between nature, people, and business.

To Environmental Sustainability:

As an eco-resort, we take into serious consideration the environmental impacts of our day to day operations. We understand that the earth gives us everything we have, and in return we strive to co-exist harmoniously with it.

We abide by the 4 R’s: Recycle, Reduce, Reuse, and Rethink. We encourage you to bring reusable water bottles, as we have water dispensers placed throughout the resort, readily available for all guests to use.

Since our resort was established in 1998, we have successfully persuaded the local fishing community to abandon blast fishing and cyanide fishing. We taught sustainable, alternative practices that allowed fishing to continue as a main source of livelihood for the locals.

We have also collaborated with locals to grow and harvest healthy seaweed with the aim to maintain a good aquatic environment. The seaweed project was initiated in the neighboring community of Sumberkima in 2002, and now involves over 150 locals.

To Our Community:

We take pride in giving back to the community, and are dedicated in addressing the socio-economic issues of the people in surrounding villages as best as we can.

We assisted in the building of several temples in the area, and built a hot spring bathing facility in the neighboring village for public use. We ran educational assistance program for 30 village children in need, based on the families’ income and background, and the children’s academic performances. Every month to this day, Mimpi provides schoolchildren in nearby areas school supplies such as stationeries and notebooks.

Nearly 75% of our staff are employed from surrounding villages, often with little formal education and work experience. We provide them with proper training and development programs to excel professionally. We also fund projects for local fishermen to operate 70 boats and employ them as boat drivers, dive guides or attendants.
